Jason Decker named Preseason All-RMAC in Men's Soccer
GOLDEN, Colo.
(Aug. 19, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines' Jason Decker has been named to the 2008 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason All-RMAC Team, as announced today by the RMAC. A senior defender from Butte, Mont. (Butte High School), Decker started all 21 matches and scored one goal in 2007 as a junior. FULL STORY

Mitchell earns Preseason All-RMAC honors for Women's Soccer
GOLDEN, Colo.
(Aug. 19, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines' Kayla Mitchell has been named to the 2008 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason All-RMAC Team, as announced today by the RMAC. A junior forward from Ontario, Ore. (Ontario High School), Mitchell was tabbed First Team All-RMAC and Academic All-RMAC last season. As a sophomore in 2007, Mitchell started all 21 matches and led the Orediggers in goals (13), total points (29) and game-winning goals (seven). FULL STORY

Volleyball's Edmiston earns Pre-Season All-RMAC honors
GOLDEN, Colo.
(Aug. 18, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines' Kaity Edmiston has been named to the 2008 Pre-Season All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball Team, as announced today by the RMAC. A 6'1" junior middle hitter from Palisade, Colo. (Palisade High School), Edmiston was named All-Southwest Region by the AVCA as a sophomore in 2007. Edmiston led the Orediggers in solo blocks (25), block assists (96), total blocks (121), blocks per game (1.07), points (457.0) and points per game (4.04) last fall. FULL STORY

Marv Kay to be inducted into CSM Athletics Hall of Fame
GOLDEN, Colo.
(July 31, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines will induct Marv Kay into the 13th annual class of its Athletics Hall of Fame this fall, as announced today by Director of Athletics Tom Spicer. The 13th annual CSM Athletics Hall of Fame banquet will take place on Friday, October 3rd, at Lockridge Arena (inside the Student Recreation Center) on the CSM campus. A reception at 5:30 p.m. will precede the banquet, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. In addition, Kay will be recognized during a pre-game ceremony at the Orediggers' 12:00 p.m. (MDT) Homecoming / Hall of Fame football game against Mesa State College on Saturday, October 4th, at Brooks Field. Kay, who will be the lone inductee enshrined into the 2008 class of the CSM Athletics Hall of Fame, will receive an unprecedented "Trailblazer Award" at the banquet in honor of his incomparable service, dedication and vision in the CSM Department of Athletics. Kay, who most notably served CSM in the capacities of Head Football Coach (1969-94) and Director of Athletics (1995-04), was also the Mayor of Golden from 1988-95.
