CURT LESSMAN
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH - OFFENSIVE LINE

Curt Lessman is beginning his first season as the offensive
line coach at Colorado School of Mines. Lessman comes to CSM from Northwest
Missouri State University (NWMSU) where he was an assistant coach (tight
ends) last season and helped the Bearcats to a Division II National Runner-Up
finish.
He developed Mike Peterson who earned All-Southwest Region accolades and
led the Bearcats with nine catches for 150 yards and a touchdown in the
national championship game.
From 2002-04, Lessman coached the Bearcat offensive line. He guided three
All-Americans during that time and helped the 2002 capture the MIAA Championship.
In 2003, the team won a share of the MIAA Title and two of his linemen
were in NFL camps, including Seth Wand who was drafted in the third round
by the Houston Texans.
Lessman spent three years (1999-2001) at NWMSU as a player. He was part
of the 1999 team that won the Division II National Championship and earned
Honorable Mention All-MIAA honors in 2000 as an offensive lineman when
the team finished fourth in the country.
In 2001, Lessman was a First Team All-MIAA and All-Region pick as an offensive
lineman and was selected to play in the Cactus Bowl, a Division II All
Star Game.
Lessman earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Marketing and Management
from Northwest Missouri State in 2002 and his Masters of Science in Education:
Heath and Physical Education in 2005 from NWMSU.
Upon his graduation, Lessman was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta
Falcons and also had workouts with the New York Giants and Houston Texans.
He played in the Arena Football League with the Chicago Rush, Carolina
Cobras, Detroit Fury and Columbus Destroyers from 2002-04.
