JASON MUNOZ
ASST. FOOTBALL COACH - OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/RECEIVERS

Jason Munoz is entering his third season as an assistant
coach at Colorado School of Mines and will once again work with the Oredigger
wide receivers.
In addition, he will serve as the offensive coordinator in 2006 as he
was promoted to serve in that capacity in early March.
Last season, Munoz once again helped the CSM receivers post another brilliant
season as the group totaled 292 catches for 3,445 yards and 24 scores.
Individually, Munoz helped develop Justin Gallas who caught 91 passes
for 1,199 yards and eight scores en route to First Team All-RMAC, All-Region
and All-American honors. He was also one of 24 finalists for the Harlon
Hill Trophy presented annually to the top player in Division II.
In 2004, Munoz helped the Oredigger wide receiver corps produce the greatest
season in school history. Both Jonny Chan and Justin Gallas topped the
1,300-yard mark and were honored as All-RMAC, All-Region and All-American
honorees. Chan finished the year with 84 catches for a school-record 1,376
yards and a school-record 12 scores, while Gallas caught a school-record
95 balls for 1,352 yards and 10 touchdowns.
As a group, CSM receivers caught 401 passes for 4,766 yards and 40 touchdowns.
A native of Stillwater, Okla., Munoz came to CSM after serving as a wide
receivers coach and offensive coordinator at California Lutheran for the
past four seasons. Prior to that, he was a student and graduate assistant
from 1997-2000 at Oklahoma State where he worked with the wide receivers
and quarterbacks.
Munoz earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Oklahoma State in 1998.
He resides in Longmont with his wife, Andra, and their two
children, Max and Brooks.
