CSM GOLF OPENS SEASON BY PLACING SIXTH AT ADAMS STATE INVITE
Vallee Ties For Fourth To Lead Orediggers

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines golf team opened the 2004 fall season by placing sixth out of eight teams at the Adams State Invitational contested at Cattails Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday. The teams played 36 holes on Monday and finished the tournament with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Fort Lewis won the team title with an 897 and was followed by Air Force "B' (899), Regis (909), Adams State (912), Colorado State-Pueblo (917), Mines (920), New Mexico Military Institute (933) and Colorado Christian (1,111).

Leading the way for the Orediggers was senior Mark Vallee (Louisville, Colo./Monarch) who tied for fourth place with a three-round total of 220 (78-72-70), while senior Ryan Regier (Fort Worth Texas/Boswell) also notched a top-10 finish as he tied for ninth at 225 (73-77-75).

Chris Sylvia of Regis claimed medalist honors with a one-unde par 212 (70-72-70).

CSM is slated to return to action from Sept. 19-21 when it competes in the RMAC Championships in Kearney, Neb.
