MINES GOLF CO-HOSTS CSM/REGIS INVITATIONAL

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines golf team co-hosted the CSM/Regis Invitational on Sunday and Monday afternoons. The teams played 18 holes on Sunday at Bear Creek C.C. and finished the 36-hole event with 18 holes on Monday at Fox Hollow Golf Course.

The Orediggers placed sixth of eight teams with 633 strokes. Division I Northern Colorado won the event with a 586 (309-277) and was followed by Fort Hays State (611, 322-289), Regis (620, 324-296), Nebraska-Kearney (622, 327-295), CU-Colorado Springs (625, 325-300) Mines (633, 322-311), Division I Air Force (636, 327-309) and Colorado Christian (741, 390-351).

CSM was led by sophomore Mark Vallee (Louisville, Colo./Monarch) who finished tied for 8th with a two-round total of 152 (79-73).

Chris Sylvia of Regis won the event as he shot even par 143 (75-68).

Mines returns to action on Saturday and Sunday when it hosts the Fort Morgan Invitational.
