MINES GOLF HOSTS FORT MORGAN INVITATIONAL

FORT MORGAN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines golf team hosted the Fort Morgan Invitation on Saturday at Fort Morgan Golf Course. The event was slated to be a 54-hole affair with 18 more holes on Sunday, but was shortened due to the snow that hit the Denver area on Sunday.

Nebraska-Kearney won the event with a 36-hole total of 590 and was followed by Colorado School of Mines (605), Regis University (610), Oklahoma Panhandle State (618) and Colorado Christian (695).

Mines was led by junior Steve Greene (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake) who tied for second place with a total of 147 (71-76). Sophomore Joe Ronevich (Wintersville, Ohio/Steubenville Catholic) was eithth with a 150 after shooting a pair of 75's.

Chris Sylvia of Regis earned medalist honors with a 1-under par 143 (69-74).

Mines is slated to return to action from Apr. 17-19 at the Regional Head to Head in Lincoln, Neb.
