MINES GOLF PLACES FOURTH AT RMAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Vallee Claims Third Overall in Individual Race

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Colorado School of Mines golf team placed fourth of nine teams at the 54-hole Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golf Championships contested Monday and Tuesday at the par-71 Meadowlark Golf Course. The teams played 36 holes on Monday and finished the tournament with 18 holes on Monday.

The Orediggers shot a tournament best 307 opening round and followed that with a 306 to put themselves in the fourth position entering the final round. CSM shot another 307 in Tuesday's final round to finish fourth with a total of 920.

Mines senior Mark Vallee (Louisville, Colo./Monarch) led the way as he placed third overall with a three-round total of 221 to earn All-RMAC honors (73-77-71), while senior Ryan Regier (Fort Worth, Texas/Boswell) finished in a tie for 16th at 231 (77-79-75).

Fort Lewis won the team title with a 905 and was followed by CU-Colorado Springs (908), Adams State (911), Mines, Fort Hays State (922), Colorado State-Pueblo (927), Nebraska-Kearney (932), Regis (933) and Colorado Christian (1,090).

Cole Nondorf of Fort Hays was the individual champion with a 217 (71-69-77).
