Leading the way for Mines on the four-game trip was junior second baseman Kim Kaiser (Sedalia, Colo./Douglas County) who went 7-for-14 with two doubles, a triple and an RBI. In the Orediggers lone win, Kaiser went 4-for-4 and scored a run. Freshman shortstop Beth Skidmore (Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge) and senior ceterfielder Karrie Rein (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) each recorded six hits on the trip, while freshman catcher Andria Eickelman (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo East) drove in a team-best four runs on the trip. Freshman pitcher Breean DiCarlo (Louisville, Colo./Monarch) picked up CSMs lone win on the mound as she pitched a complete game seven-hitter in the third game of the series. DiCarlo also pitched a complete game in the second game of the trip, giving up six hits and allowing three runs, one earned. CSM was scheduled to be in action again this weekend at the Mile-Hi Classic in Castle Rock, Colo. However, that tournament was cancelled due to the inclement weather. Mines is not scheduled to play again until it hosts Southern Colorado for a pair of doubleheaders on Feb. 22-23. -- orediggers -- |
