CSM ATHLETICS
Facilities and Hours of Operation
Russell H. Volk Gymnasium
A tri-level complex comprised of a basketball court, two racquetball /
handball courts, a wrestling room, a weight-training facility, locker
space and offices for the CSM Athletics Department. Volk Gym is located
at 14th and Illinois Street.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday - Friday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday: CLOSED
Lockridge Arena
Located inside of the CSM Student Recreation Center, Lockridge Arena serves
as the home court for the Oredigger volleyball, men's basketball and women's
basketball teams. Located at 17th and Elm Street. Parking information
for Lockridge Arena is available below.
CSM Natatorium
Located inside of the CSM Student Recreation Center, the CSM Natatorium
serves as the home of the Oredigger men's and women's swimming & diving
teams. Located at 17th and Elm Street.
Steinhauer Fieldhouse
A completely renovated facility of 35,000 square feet which provides for
the needs of intercollegiate athletics, physical education classes, intramurals
and student recreation. Located at 13th and Illinois Street.
Jim Darden Baseball Field
Located west of Brooks Field at 12th and Maple Street. Darden Field has
seating accommodations for 500 spectators.
Softball Field
Located west of Brooks Field at 12th and Maple Street (located adjacent
to Jim Darden Baseball Field).
Brooks Field
Named in honor of Ralph D. Brooks, former member of the Board of Trustees
of Colorado School of Mines, Brooks Field includes a football / soccer
field equipped with lights and a steel-concrete grandstand and bleachers
which seat 3,500 spectators. Located at 12th and Maple Street.
Tennis Courts
The Department maintains four tennis courts. Located at 13th and Maple
Street.
Swenson Intramural Complex
Four fields are available for intramural / recreation sports. Located
at 17th and Elm Street.
Directions to Brooks Field
(Brooks Field is located at 12th and Maple Street)
From the south (via I-25):
Take I-25 to C-470 west. Turn left on 6th Avenue. Turn right on 19th Street.
Turn left on Illinois Street. Turn left on 12th Street. Follow 12th Street
to Maple Street. Brooks Field is located on the northwest corner of 12th
and Maple Street.
From the east (via 6th Ave.):
Take 6th Avenue past the Jefferson County Courthouse. Turn right on 19th
Street. Turn left on Illinois Street. Turn left on 12th Street. Follow
12th Street to Maple Street. Brooks Field is located on the northwest
corner of 12th and Maple Street.
From the east (via I-70):
Take I-70 west and exit on Hwy 58. Go west on Hwy 58 to the Washington
Avenue exit. Go south (left) on Washington Avenue. Turn right on 12th
Street. Follow 12th Street to Maple Street. Brooks Field is located on
the northwest corner of 12th and Maple Street.
From the north (via I-25):
Take I-76 to I-70 west. Exit on Hwy 58. Go west on Hwy 58 to the Washington
Avenue exit. Go south (left) on Washington Avenue. Turn right on 12th
Street. Follow 12th Street to Maple Street. Brooks Field is located on
the northwest corner of 12th and Maple Street.
From the Boulder area (via Hwy 93):
Take Hwy 93 south into Golden. At the junction of Hwy 93, 6th Ave. and
Hwy 58, go east (left) onto Hwy 58. Go to Washington Avenue. Go south
(right) on Washington Avenue. Turn right on 12th Street. Follow 12th Street
to Maple Street. Brooks Field is located on the northwest corner of 12th
and Maple Street.
From the west (via I-70):
Take I-70 east to the Morrison Exit. Turn left onto Hwy 40 (Colfax Ave.).
Turn left on Hwy 6 (6th Ave.). Take 6th Avenue past the Jefferson County
Courthouse. Turn right on 19th Street. Turn left on Illinois Street. Turn
left on 12th Street. Follow 12th Street to Maple Street. Brooks Field
is located on the northwest corner of 12th and Maple Street.

From the south (via I-25):
Take I-25 to C-470 west. Turn left on 6th Avenue. Turn right on 19th Street.

on the southwest corner of 13th and Illinois Street.
From the east (via 6th Ave.):
Take 6th Avenue past the Jefferson County Courthouse. Turn right on 19th
Street. Turn left on Illinois Street. Volk Gymnasium / Steinhauer Fieldhouse
is on the southwest corner of 13th and Illinois Street.
From the east (via I-70):
Take I-70 west and exit on Hwy 58. Go west on Hwy 58 to the Washington
Avenue exit. Go south (left) on Washington Avenue. Turn right on 13th

From the north (via I-25):

PARKING INFORMATION FOR LOCKRIDGE ARENA
Visitors coming to Lockridge Arena for CSM volleyball and basketball games
may park for free (after 5pm) at various locations on the CSM campus.
Parking is available in the lot just west of the CSM Recreation Center
(at 17th & Elm), as well as in the lot behind the Public Safety building
(at the northwest corner of 19th and Illinois). Parking is also available
in the lot between Volk Gymnasium and Arthur Lakes Library (south of the
CSM Recreation Center on Maple Street). Visitors may also utilize street
parking, where available, on the CSM campus.
