GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's golf program has received commitments from five student-athletes to begin competing for the Orediggers in 2008-09, as announced today by CSM Head Coach Tyler Kimble.

Joining the Orediggers in 2008-09 will be Zach Beebe, Austin Dean, Patrick Hill, Jim Knous and Bobby McCracken.

Beebe, who hails from Sparks, Nev., led Spanish Springs High School to the 4A State Championship while earning First Team All-Region and Second Team All-League accolades as a junior in 2007.

A native of Billings, Mont., Dean is a two-time All-State selection. Dean led Billings West High School to a State Championship as a sophomore in 2006.

Hill, a native of Westminster, Colo. (Holy Family High School), earned First Team All-Metro League honors in 2007 and was tabbed as a 4A Top Player by the Rocky Mountain News.

Knous, who hails from Basalt, Colo. (Basalt High School), earned medalist honors at 14 of his 21 prep tournaments in 2006 and 2007. A First Team All-State selection, Knous registered top-five finishes during each of his other seven events, as well.

A native of Reno, Nev. (Earl Wooster High School), McCracken earned All-Region recognition in 2007 after finishing the season as the Sierra League's (4A) leader in Cup points. McCracken was a First Team All-Region pick as a freshman in 2005.

"This may be the most talented recruiting class that the Oredigger golf team has ever seen," said Kimble, who is in his first season at Mines. "We will continue to strive for improvement as we set our sights not only on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship, but also on a berth in the NCAA Division II West / Northwest Super Regional."

The Orediggers will begin their 2008 spring schedule on Sunday, February 3rd, by co-hosting the Colorado School of Mines / Colorado Christian University Head-to-Head at the Family Sports Center in Englewood, Colo.
