CSM women's basketball program receives commitment from McKnight

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines women's basketball program has received a commitment from Kaci McKnight (Boerne, TX / Boerne H.S.) to begin playing for the Orediggers in 2007-08, as announced today by Head Coach Paula Krueger.

McKnight, a 5'8" guard, was a three-time First Team All-District selection and garnered TABC All-Region honors during her final two years at Boerne High School. Also selected as Boerne's Team MVP and Offensive MVP following her final two seasons, McKnight averaged 13 points, seven rebounds, 5.5 assists and three steals per game during her senior campaign in 2006-07.

"We are thrilled that Kaci will be playing for Colorado School of Mines next season," said Krueger, who will begin her fifth season at CSM in 2007-08. "Kaci's scoring mentality and shooting ability will be tremendous assets to our program."

A three-time Academic All-District honoree, McKnight was also named Academic All-State as a senior. McKnight, who was named All-State by Texas Basketball Magazine in 2006-07, also earned Top 50 Girls in the State recognition from texashhoops.com and Texas Prep Magazine during her final season at Boerne.

The Orediggers finished with a 15-13 overall record (12-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) and qualified for the annual RMAC Shootout for the fourth consecutive season in 2006-07.
