Dolan, Gruber, Hutchison, Madenwald & Stabell commit to Orediggers
GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 23, 2009) - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball program has received commitments from five student-athletes to begin playing for the Orediggers in 2009, as announced today by CSM Head Coach Jamie Skadeland.
Stephanie Dolan (Brighton, CO / Holy Family H.S.),
Nicole Gruber (Evergreen, CO / Evergreen H.S.), Holly Hutchison (Colorado Springs, CO / Cheyenne Mountain H.S.),
Alese Madenwald (Redondo Beach, CA / South H.S.) and
Jackie Stabell (Tomball, TX / Tomball H.S.) will all begin competing for Colorado School of Mines next fall. FULL STORY

CSM gives back at local blood drive
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (Apr. 20, 2009) - In March of 2009, the Colorado School of Mines volleyball team donated blood at a Denver area Bonfils Blood Center. “Our players are truly making the effort to represent CSM volleyball and our institution to the community of Golden,” said head coach Jamie Skadeland, who was selected to receive a Thirty Under 30 award from the AVCA earlier this spring. “They are being creative and innovative to come up with ways to help those around us. Skadeland receives Thirty Under 30 award from AVCA
GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 23, 2009) - Colorado School of Mines head volleyball coach Jamie Skadeland has been selected to receive a Thirty Under 30 award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, as announced by the AVCA in that organization’s February / March 2009 edition of Coaching Volleyball. The AVCA selected the top 30 coaches under the age of 30 from all levels of the game (club, high school, junior college, NAIA and NCAA Division I, II and III) to receive its inaugural Thirty Under 30 awards in 2009. During her first season at the helm in 2008, Skadeland guided the Orediggers to a 19-13 overall record (12-7 RMAC) and led Mines to a berth as the #6 seed in the RMAC Tournament. FULL

Hansing, Otting & Padget-Shields commit
to CSM
GOLDEN, Colo. (Dec. 3, 2008) - The Colorado School of
Mines volleyball program has received commitments from Betsy Hansing, Megan Otting and Anna Padget-Shields to begin playing for the Orediggers in 2009, as announced today
by CSM Head Coach Jamie Skadeland. "I am really looking forward
to these players joining our program next year," said Skadeland,
who will begin her second year as the head coach and third season
overall at Mines in 2009. "They all are extremely competitive
and are willing to put in the work it takes to win. Not only will
they each provide depth in our outside and right side positions,
but they will continue to push the competitive level on our current
roster." Mines compiled a 19-13 overall record (12-7 RMAC)
in 2008 and qualified as the #6 seed in the RMAC Tournament. The
Orediggers, whose 19 victories were just one shy of tying the single-season
program record, advanced into the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament.
CSM was ranked as high as eighth in the NCAA Division II Central
Region Poll this fall. FULL
