MINES VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT TOP-RANKED KEARNEY, 3-0

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team fell to 5-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play with a 3-0 loss at top-ranked Nebraska-Kearney in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night at the Health and Sports Center. The Lopers improved to 14-0 overall (4-0 RMAC) and moved their home winning streak to 25 matches.

Game scores were 30-15, 30-14, 30-22.

Junior right side Kelly Desens (Aurora, Colo./Overland) led the Orediggers with seven kills. Sophomore setter Katherine Muterspaugh (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) amassed a double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs, while junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Paola, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) led the team with 11 digs.

Erin Gudmundson totaled a game-best 13 kills for UNK. Erin Arnold added nine kills and a game-high 14 digs, while Bethany Spilde dished out 39 assists.

CSM returns to action on Friday night when it hosts Metro State at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium.
