MINES VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT CSU-PUEBLO AND UCCS

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped its match on Saturday night at Colorado State-Pueblo, 3-1, and also lost at CU-Colorado Springs on Sunday afternoon, 3-2.

Game scores against Pueblo were 30-20, 30-27, 27-30, 30-21, while the Orediggers lost at UCCS 30-25, 28-30, 17-30, 30-19, 15-11.

In the loss at Pueblo, Mines was led by junior outside hitter Kelly Desens (Aurora, Colo./Overland) who produced a match-best 18 kills and eight digs. Freshman setter Celeste Cashel (Glenwood Springs, Colo./Glenwood Springs) amassed 52 assists, while junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Paola, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) recorded a match-best 18 assists.

On Sunday, sophomore outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) led the way with 11 kills, while Alsbrooks registered 20 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) also reached double figures in kills with 10.

CSM (6-12, 1-8 RMAC) will be back in action on Friday night when it hosts Mesa State at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium.
