MINES VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO 13TH-RANKED FORT HAYS STATE, 3-1

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to 13th-ranked Fort Hays State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday night in Volk Gymnasium. Game scores were 30-26, 30-22, 26-30, 30-22.

CSM (12-15, 7-11) was led by junior outside hitter Samantha Bauer (Lakewood, Colo./Dubai UAE) who registered 16 kills and three digs. Freshman middle blocker Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) amassed 12 kills, while junior right side Kelly Desens (Aurora, Colo./Overland) tallied 10 kills and six digs.

Sophomore setter Katherine Muterspaugh (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) recorded 53 assists and 11 digs for Mines.

FHSU (26-3, 16-2 RMAC) was paced by Amber Zoglman who amassed 23 kills and eight digs. Jayme Eichner dished out 57 assists and tallied 16 digs, while Ashley Holt had 14 kills and 11 digs.

Mines will conclude its season Saturday at 4:00 pm when it hosts top-ranked Nebraska-Kearney in Volk Gymnasium.
