MINES VOLLEYBALL TOPS FORT LEWIS, 3-1

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team picked up their third straight win with a 3-1 triumph over Fort Lewis in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night in Volk Gymnasium. Game scores were 30-24, 30-17, 27-30, 30-24.

Leading the way for Mines was junior outsider hitter Samantha Bauer (Lakewood, Colo./Dubai UAE) who posted 20 kills, eight blocks and five digs. Sophomore setter Katherine Muterspaugh (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) amassed 59 assists, while junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Paola, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) tallied a match-best 35 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) and sophomore middle blocker Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) each registered 13 kills on the evening.

The Skyhawks (4-17, 1-12 RMAC) were led by Lisa Levings who registered 20 kills and 14 digs. Teri Winfrey dished out 50 assists and Adrianne Dettler led the squad with 22 digs.

Mines (9-13, 4-9 RMAC) returns to acion on Friday night when it travels to Metro State for a 7:00 pm match.
