MINES VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO METRO STATE, 3-0

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Metro State on Friday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action in Volk Gymnasium. Game scores were 30-17, 30-26, 30-28.

The loss drops Mines to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play, while the Roadrunners improve to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in RMAC play.

CSM was led by junior outside hitter Samantha Bauer (Lakewood, Colo./Dubai UAE) who tallied a team-best 11 kills, four digs and two blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) amassed eight kills, five blocks and four digs, while junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Paola, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) led the team with 23 digs.

The Roadrunners were paced by Sheena McLaughlin's double-double effort of 11 kills and game-high 24 digs. Andra Pederson tallied a match-best 12 kills, while Gabrielle Curtis dished out a match-high 43 assists.

Mines will return to action on Saturday night when it hosts Colorado Christian at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium.
